The 622-D grill vent cover, along with the 620-D sliding vent cover, comes standard with all of our indoor sauna kit packages. Ventilation is paramount in saunas for a myriad of reasons: it evenly distributes heat, brings in fresh air for breathing, and greatly enhances the overall sauna experience. There are several approaches to sauna ventilation, including mechanical and convectional venting, the latter being the most favored. Convectional venting leverages gravity to draw fresh air in and push hot air out, thereby establishing a natural airflow within the sauna room. Some prefer a straightforward setup with one inlet and one outlet vent—one positioned low near the heater and the other high on the opposite wall. Alternatively, others opt for a three-vent system: a low inlet vent below the heater, a second inlet on the opposite wall approximately four inches higher, and a high outlet vent near the ceiling.

Essentially, there are numerous effective strategies for managing ventilation. The 622-D serves as the grill, a fixed inlet vent that, in contrast to the adjustable 620-D sliding vent, remains open to continuously supply fresh air. Unlike its sliding counterpart, the 622-D doesn’t feature an adjustable cover but instead is often placed below the heater or, in a three-vent configuration, below the bench as an exhaust vent.

Keep in mind, these components are vent covers, meaning you’ll need to fashion a cavity within the wall for both the inlet and outlet vents. Designed to overlay the framed opening for the exhaust vent, this vent cover seamlessly conceals it, maintaining the sauna’s aesthetic appeal.
